The consensus among my horseback-riding friends is that this type of trainer is a really helpful tool in building the strength, balance, and stability necessary for riders. I am fascinated by the idea of translating the core strengthening aspects of riding into a core trainer machine that can be used by anyone. People who don't ride horses might find the idea of sitting on a trainer odd, but I've found that riding both requires and helps develop core strength, so it was a great idea to translate that kind of exercise into a machine for city folk/non-horsey types. It's a low impact way to build strength (with no risk of getting bucked off!). Competitive riders will find it gives them an edge, too. |
